Sisters of Merciful Jesus

The Congregation was founded in 1947 by Fr Michael Sopocko as the answer for the apparition of Jesus Christ, who ordered St. Faustina among other things, to found the new religious community. The members of this congregation begins each activity to renew the message of: Jesus, I trust in You.

The spirituality of the congregation consists in surrendering to God’s activity and in trustful acceptance of all the consequences, which such surrendering brings. The congregation leads the apostolic activity, trying to answer for the actual needs of the Church. The Sisters work in 20 monastic houses in Poland and in 15 houses abroad. They run hospices, a house for pregnant mothers, retreat houses, and catechesis at parishes.

The congregation began their apostolic work in Canada on August 1, 1996. In their mission, the sisters live out the message of the Divine Mercy. The sisters started to work at Maskwacis (previously “Hobbema”) on the 24th of June 1999. There were three sisters at the beginning.

The Sisters are involved in pastoral care, sacramental preparation for children and adults, music ministry, liturgical ministries, youth ministry, and parish office work.
